CRES Artists Have Been BUSY!


Kindergarten students make Spiderweb Hats in October.
Kindergarten makes Clay leaf Prints in November.
Third Graders make Clay Pinch Pots in October.

Fourth Graders paint beautiful insects in watercolor.

Fourth Graders learn about mixing different values of gray.


Fourth Graders learned how to shade circles into spheres in an outer space drawing.



Fifth graders drew sea shells from observation then painted with with watercolor.

CRES Invited to Join the Cummer Museum of Art & Garden's Weaver Academy of Art

All students enrolled at Central Riverside Elementary School are a part of The Weaver Academy of Art Program from The Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens.  This ongoing outreach program serves over 3,000 children (Pre-Kindergarten through fifth grades) and over 200 teachers in nine inner city schools, of which an average of 90% of the students qualify for free and reduced lunch. This initiative, the largest educational program in the history of The Cummer Museum, provides two Museum Educator classroom visits, two museum tours, teacher trainings, FREE art classes, classroom resources, FREE family passes to the Museum, and a scholarship program for Camp Cummer to recognize outstanding participation.
