Collaborative Monoprint Cityscapes
Third graders learn the art of printmaking by creating a collaborative cityscape using styro-foam plates. After viewing a series of architectural drawings of historic buildings, the students sketched their favorite then transferred the image to a styro-foam plate. Using a brayer, they applied the block printing ink to the
etched surface then pressed the plate onto the background sheet. Each
sketch was unique adding a variety of interesting buildings.
