Help From a Chinese Friend
Our newest 5th grader, Cyrus, is from China and has very little English
proficiency. To communicate with him, his teachers use a translator
application on an iPad and our smartphones to communicate. We honored
Cyrus this week by creating art from his culture, Chinese Bamboo
Paintings and benefited from his knowledge of Chinese calligraphy to add
a signature using symbols from the Chinese alphabet.
Peer teaching performed by students using an iPad and a translator application. |
